Change Up Your Hair!

Much thanks to abHair.com for providing the below product to facilitate this review!

Back in the day, I had super short hair and I LOVED it!  Unfortunately, it was a lot of work and sort of a pain, because my natural hair tends to curl up when it gets short.  It's grown out since then and it's a lot more manageable, but sometimes I wish I could just cut it all off for a little while and rock the short hair again.

My senses always kick in and I remember I don't really have the time anymore to be messing with my hair on an every day basis, so long it remains.

When I was contacted by abHair.com about reviewing one of their new High Temperature Resistance Fiber wigs, I was a little unsure.  I checked out the site anyway, to see just what kind of wig we were talking about here and I was super surprised!  They have SO many awesome options!  My immediate thought was for cosplay and such, but they have a lot of everyday-type wigs available too.  Including this one!

I chose the short black/wine costume wig, because it's totally a style I would love to try on my real hair, but a LOT LESS WORK!  It's made of 100% Kanekalon heat resistant synthestic. It's something I'm comfortable going out in any day of the week, it doesn't need a special occasion.  It looks natural and it's overall pretty awesome.

I've never gone the wig route, but it took no time at all to pull up my natural hair, pull on a wig cap and put this lovely thing on.  I can't wait to see the reaction when my little man gets off the bus and sees mom's new hair.  Let's just say it could be amusing ;)

If you're interested in the options available, head on over to abHair.com.  They just added some new ones, which I REALLY wish I'd known were coming available.  I'm just loving the Gamora and Frankie Stein ones!  They're well priced and seem to be very well made.

I don't know about you, but my little one is so excited to see this movie when it comes to Blu-Ray/DVD!  It's even more exciting that it comes out just a couple of days before his 5th birthday!

Disney's "Planes Fire & Rescue" is landing on Disney Blu-ray™ Combo Pack, Digital HD, Disney Movies Anywhere, DVD and On-Demand platforms November 4th! The follow-up to last year's "Planes" comes the world famous racer Dusty Crophopper who joins an elite fire and rescue unit and learns what it takes to be a true hero. Back to School with SoCozy

Disclaimer: I was sent product from the below company in return for my honest opinion and review. No other compensation was received.

My lovely little princess has long, curly, sometimes hard to manage hair.  It's almost down to her waist, and while I should PROBABLY get it cut, it just hasn't happened yet.  (Other than an incident involving a scissor-wielding big brother. Sigh.)  With the busy back to school season, I need great products that work effectively and keep us from sitting for what feels like hours, working on detangling and managing these curls.

Needless to say, I'm always on the lookout for good haircare for her, the typical kid shampoos do NOTHING good and she ends up with knots and wannabe dreads instead of soft curls.  When we were approached with the opportunity to try out some hair products by SoCozy, I was pretty darn excited!  We got a lovely box of goodies to try out, including the following:

- Cinch 2 in 1 Shampoo + Body Wash in Guav-o-rama ($11.95 for 8oz)
- Cinch Super Hydrating Conditioner in Berry-Whip ($11.95 for 8oz)
- Cinch Detangler + Leave-In Conditioner in Fruity-tutti ($11.95 for 8 oz)
- Behave Styling Mouse Medium Hold in Peachy-keen ($11.95 for 6 oz)
- Cozy’s Complete Guide to Girls’ Hair ($15.95) – get great tips for girls from the best cuts for face shapes, to instant fixes for bad hair days and five-minute styles.

I must say, I may have been the most excited about the hair style book.  For as beautiful as her hair is, many days it ends up wrapped up in a messy bun on the top of her head to keep it out of her face.  I was pleasantly surprised to find that it comes with way more than just hair style tutorials and ideas, it also talks about hair care and all kinds of other useful topics.  Everything from "Gum and Goo" to "Knot Know-How: How to Detangle Hair."  Perfect.

I love the Cinch 2 in 1 Shampoo + Body Wash, it smells amazing and I love being able to use one product for head to toe.  I also love that SoCozy products feature extracts from natural ingredients like hops, rosemary, arnica flower, and aloe, which are good for both hair and scalp. The products are specially formulated to bring salon-level quality to kids’ hair care, and contain no nasties like harmful chemicals, toxins, or parabens.

As you can see on the above picture, the Cinch Detanger + Leave-In Conditioner works pretty well too.  She always goes running for "the spray" when I comb out her hair after the bath, and the first thing she said when I told her we had a new one to try out was, "That smells SO GOOD, mom!"  It's 3-year-old approved in this house!

Meet The Boxtrolls!

Boxes?  Trolls?  Trolls in boxes?  Is this based on someone's perspective of my house on any random afternoon after a visit from FedEx/UPS?  Are they spying on us??  Nope.  The Boxtrolls is based on the story "Here Be Monsters" by Alan Snow. Apparently someone else has the imagination-line of my children ;)

A family event movie from the creators of “Coraline” and “ParaNorman” introduces audiences to a new breed of family – The Boxtrolls, a community of quirky, mischievous creatures who have lovingly raised an orphaned human boy named Eggs (voiced by Isaac Hempstead-Wright) in the amazing cavernous home they’ve built beneath the streets of Cheesebridge. When the town’s villain, Archibald Snatcher (Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley), comes up with a plot to get rid of the Boxtrolls, Eggs decides to venture above ground, “into the light,” where he meets and teams up with fabulously feisty Winnifred (Elle Fanning). Together, they devise a daring plan to save Eggs’ family.

I just have to mention that my 7-year-old little guy thinks that stop-motion animation movies are the best. He's always asking how they're made and is just REALLY into the whole process.  I can't wait to show him the latest "behind the scenes" featurette from The Boxtrolls, I think he's going to love it!

You can check it out yourself below!
