Double Points!

Woohoo! One of my favorite cloth diapers stores, Kelly's Closet, has double diaper dollars going on now!  That means for every dollar you spend, you get TWO reward points.  The points can add up fast and the reward levels start at 225 points = a $10 gift certificate.  That would NORMALLY be $225 spent, but right now it's only about $113!

Not only that, but they have a coupon code out for buy 5 get 1 free on BumGenius 4.0 diapers.  That's 6 diapers for $86.90 and they're shipped free because Kelly's Closet offers free shipping on all orders over $49.  Sounds like a pretty good deal to me and you're well over halfway to a $10 gift certificate, just for shopping!

CSN Stores - Brumby Boot Review

As you may remember from my last CSN post, I had the opportunity to review something from one of their 200 stores!!  Now, seeing as how I haven't really had a "pre-pregnancy size" since, oh, about 2006, the only constant size I have has been my shoe size!  I'm like just about every other woman out there, always checking out shoes!  These days, I only ever really wear athletic-type shoes just because pregnancy makes me clumsy and they're just easier for chasing little boys around the playground.

I decided to check out CSN's selection of shoes and quickly ended up on the boots page!  I haven't really had a pair of boots since I was a kid and I've finally decided enough is enough, I'm tired of getting snow in my shoes and having wet pant legs all winter.

I quickly fell in love with these Brumby boots.  Now that I have them (and this crazy Indiana weather is hanging out around 70 degrees) I've been wearing them around the house!  They are SO comfortable!  They're very warm and easy to put on.  I'm getting to the point I can't tie my shoes, so this is a huge plus for me!  They have suede uppers and a genuine sheepskin lining...for those features, they're a great price at just over $50.00 and free shipping!  That's way less than you would pay for other brands and they're well made and don't seem like they would fall apart like many of the cheaper "one season" type that you can find in discount stores.

I'm very happy with my choice and can't wait for the real winter weather to arrive!!

Disclaimer: I was provided a gift certificate to CSN Stores with which to purchase my review product.  No other compensation was received.

shutterfly

When it came to ordering Tiny Man's photo birth announcements, I headed to shutterfly.com.  At that point, I hadn't really tried ANY online card/photo company and was going on hearsay from family that they were great to work with.  I quickly found that they were right and I had a wonderful experience!  It was easy to use and the shipping was great!  Everything a busy mom needs and wants when she's looking for online shopping and card creation.

Now the the holidays are quickly approaching, I decided to check out the selection of holiday photo cards and noticed right away that they're 20% off!  Right on!  Not only that, but they have free shipping if you spend $30+, so if you have a lot of people to send cards to, there's no worries!

If you're the one throwing the Christmas/holiday party this year, you can get your holiday party invitations for that done while you're doing your family cards, making it even more convenient on your end.  A few minutes at the computer, a few days in the mail, and you're ready to send out your invites AND holiday cards!

You can get everything done on time, ahead of time, or just in time and bring smiles to the faces of loved ones when they open your card this year!

I still need to get our Christmas pictures taken of the boys, but these are a few of my favorite card templates.

I think that last one is my favorite, I could get the boys' picture taken and later add a picture of baby girl if she shows up before I get them ordered.  (Really, I'm a procrastinator when it comes to these things, so it very well could happen that way!)

So, how about you?  Have you ordered your cards yet?  Have you used shutterfly in the past?

Seventh Generation Laundry Products Review and Giveaway

As a mom, you already do so much to protect your family- buckling seatbelts, cooking healthy meals and requiring bike helmets. But did you know that the laundry detergent you may be using could contain little-known chemicals called optical brighteners?

According to scientific research, these can cause allergic reactions, are toxic to small fish and other aquatic life, and can pollute your waterways.

When ultraviolet light hits optical brighteners coating your clothing, the brighteners convert UV rays into visible light to create an optical illusion. This tricks the eye into thinking the clothing is whiter and brighter, and therefore cleaner than it really is.

So how can you avoid these optical brighteners? Seventh Generation makes it easy because their laundry detergents are not only free of optical brighteners, but they´re also non-toxic . In addition, because Seventh Generation liquid laundry detergents are both hypo-allergenic and biodegradable, you can rest easy knowing you made a considerate choice for your family and the environment. We invite you to take part in this Spark and conduct your own experiment to see the difference between your current laundry detergent and Seventh Generation laundry detergent.

When washed in a conventional laundry detergent that contains optical brighteners, clothes appear to glow under a black light. When you use Seventh Generation liquid laundry products, you won´t see the same glow on your clothing.

Take a look at the experiment in the photo below. These are two identical organic cotton shirts, one washed in a conventional laundry detergent that contains optical brighteners and the other in Seventh Generation laundry detergent which does not use optical brighteners.  What a difference!

Yuck, I don't know about you, but I'd prefer to keep that sort of 'enhancement' away from my kids' skin (not to mention my own!).  We had a lot of fun with our laundry experiment, Talker Man was "in charge" of the black light and even said, "Mommy!  They're not the same!"  The t-shirts are exactly the same, until you turn on the light!  If you would like to try the Seventh Generation laundry detergent for yourself, you can get a $1.00 coupon here!

Win It!

Prize: Thanks to Seventh Generation and MyBlogSpark, one lucky winner will be receiving a Seventh Generation laundry prize package to try for themselves!

Ending tomorrow!

Don't forget to enter the Clear Hills Honey Crayon giveaway! It ends tomorrow night at 11:59 EST :) These would be a perfect stocking stuffer for your little artist.

Wow!!

Has it really been almost a year?? It seems like just yesterday I was pregnant with Tiny Man and today we're headed out to celebrate his first birthday.  He's going to be a year old on Tuesday, but we're having a small family celebration at my Grandparents ("small" being relative for the size of our extended family!).  Anyway, I was looking through my pictures and this one sticks in my head, it's the last "belly pic" and Talker Man's last picture with mommy being an only child!

A couple of nights ago, I was cuddling Tiny Man, his head on my shoulder and me just breathing in his baby smell...something that doesn't happen too often these days since he's such a busy little boy. I remember when he was first born, I took every single opportunity I could get to cuddle and snuggle and sniff him because I knew it wouldn't last very long. I was definitely right on that one! This time last year I was anxiously excited to see his tiny face, to see the person he was and the person he would (and will!) become. He's already losing a bit of his baby face pudge and that sweet baby smell is going to turn into sweaty little boy before too much longer.  I'm going to turn around and he'll be as big as his brother! (Who, by the way, is getting huge too, I was folding clothes the other day and just shook my head at the fact that in 3 years you go from teeny tiny sleepers to size 4 hoodies and jeans!)

Man! This pregnancy has me emotional and full of memories! I can't wait to build new ones with our little girl, but she can hang out in there awhile so I get a little more one on one time with my bigger boys before the return of sleepless nights ;)

Tommee Tippee Travel Bottle and Food Warmer Review

I only recently heard of Tommee Tippee, and it's a brand I wish I'd learned of a couple years ago!  I recently had the opportunity to check out their travel bottle and food warmer set as well as their bottle pods.

The Tommee Tippee Travel Bottle and Food Warmer is a GREAT little invention, one that I wish had been thought of before, but I'm glad it's around now!  It needs no electricity and uses a thermal flask (with safety release button) to keep water warm.  You can either use your warm water to heat baby's bottle/jarred food or you can use the warm water in the flask to make fresh feeds.  Pour your powdered formula in the baby bottle beforehand and all you need to do is add the fresh, already warm water!  Super simple!  I love that there are two ways of using it, especially since the warm water method is the best way to heat pumped breast milk and makes it easy to warm it up on the go!  (I can tell you first hand how much of a pain it is to try to go on a day of errands and to have a bottle of pumped milk that there's no easy way to heat up when you're out and about!)

Secondly, we had the chance to check out the new Tommee Tippee Bottle Pods.  Again, a great travel item!  The bottle pods and bottle warmer go hand in hand and are a must have for any new mom!  The insulated bottle pods allow you to keep your bottles warm or cold and the adjustable strap means you can attach them anywhere!  We were able to hook one onto the stroller and not worry about losing it or having it fall to the bottom of the diaper bag.  What other bottle pod can you do that with?  Even better, they come two to a package so you can have one cold AND one hot, whatever your needs may be!

Buy It!
The above Tommee Tippee products can be found at Babies "R" Us for right around $20 a piece.
