Yes, I'm finally getting a chance to try this stuff out! I've heard nothing but good things, and let me tell you guys, the things you hear are totally true. Let me step back though, I'm getting so excited that I'm getting ahead of myself.
I try to make effort to use green and healthy products around my home, but one look under the sink and you'll know I'm not really doing the greatest job. (Yes, it's blurry on purpose, we don't want to rat out anybody for chemicals now, do we?)
Some of them are green-ish, but did you know that even some of the products that CLAIM to be green are actually full of hidden chemicals? Check it out here, on the Household Products Database. Many of them contain such "goodies" as kerosene, phenols, cresol, lye, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, sulfuric acid, petroleum distillates, ammonia, sodium hydroxide, butyl cellosolve, phosphoric acid, formaldehyde, chlorine bleach, morpholine, phthalates. Around my kiddos and pets on a regular basis? No, thank you.
There are SO many Shaklee products available, I got to check out the Get Clean Starter Kit, as seen below.
It was sort of like Christmas, opening this package up. It has literally everything that you need, except water. I LOVE that it comes with the spray bottles and containers to use when you mix your (super concentrated) cleaning products with water...you don't have to go out and buy something else to put them in, it's all right there, along with the sponges, cleaners and scrubbers for all those cleaning jobs that come up.
Did you know that on average, for the amount of cleaning products in the Shaklee kit, it would cost around $3400 for national brands? Holy smokes, that's crazy. I bet you think the Shaklee stuff costs more, hmm? Not so much.
This entire kit is $115.

What We Thought
Yes, they work! I love using disinfecting wipes, they're so easy, convenient and just nice to have around for wiping up the counter, the bathroom, the light switches, the doorknobs, whatever...I like to use them a lot, but I DON'T like that other brands have you rinsing the surface after you wipe it. That sort of defeats the purpose of ease and convenience, doesn't it?
I like that I can use one or two products for JUST about every cleaning task around my home. The degreaser is fabulous on the stove and the range hood, it cuts right through, no icky streaks. Did you know that the Basic H2® Organic Super Cleaning Concentrate takes just 1/4 tsp. mixed with 16 ounces of water, makes a whole bottle of all-purpose cleaner for only 3 cents? How much is that bottle at the store? At least $2. What serious cost savings!
It's not only saving money, it's saving 108 pounds of packaging waste from landfills and it eliminate 248 pounds of greenhouse gas.
