Tropicana Pure Premium is 100% Pure Florida Orange Juice #TropFloridaOJ

Ahh, around here spring break is almost over. With that, MANY people are heading home from Florida -- family members included (they forgot to pack me in the suitcase!).  When I think of Florida, I think of the warm sun, the sandy beach and the BEAUTIFUL ocean view.  What do you think of?  Does orange juice come to mind?  It probably should!

 
This, my fabulous readers, is one of the many orange groves that Tropicana uses to purchase oranges for it's oh-so-yummy orange juice.  Did you know that they use groves in 22 different Florida counties and that Tropicana is the SINGLE largest buyer of Florida fruit?  They purchase upwards of 11.6 BILLION oranges from Florida each year.  Wow!  That's a LOT of oranges!

This isn't a new thing, they've had a grower/purchaser relationship with some of their growers since 1960.  That's well before a big deal was made about buying local and buying US-made.  Tropicana's been well ahead of the curve in that respect. If you can't tell from those stats, Tropicana Pure Premium is 100% Pure Florida Orange Juice. If you check some labels of other brands, they are NOT.

How about a couple of little tidbits on the Tropicana oranges?  They say you should learn something new everyday...this was my new knowledge of the day and I wanted to share it with you!

1) The two major orange types in Tropicana Pure Premium are Valencia and Hamlin. Valencias typically have more intense color and flavor, while Hamlins can be sweeter. They each add unique characteristics to the TPP blend.

2) Many Florida growers sample oranges by cutting them into a cup shape, allowing for drinking juice directly from the fruit.
Tropicana is a great way to start the day--we love it here!  Little Miss Princess isn't much of a fan yet, but in time I'm sure she'll be drinking it with the rest of us with her morning cereal!
