Bath and Massage Favorites!

I can't believe it's back to school time already! Let's hope my posts get back to normal, I've missed you all!  With back to school comes cooler weather and upcoming holidays!  I don't know about you, but I have to get a head start on holiday shopping or else I either, A, run out of the moola before I'm finished, or B, am running around like a headless chicken trying to get everything together and organized.

I've been finding lately that staying in and home-spa things are more and more appealing.  What's even better is when I can find these awesome goodies online and have them sent straight to my door.  I like to try things out myself before getting them for other people because, well, I like to pamper myself a little and I don't want to give anyone anything that I wouldn't use myself!  I've been slowly checking out things from EdenFantasys (adult link - 18+!) growing selection of bath goodies, (adult link - 18+!) and so far I've been very pleased and many things have made it to the, "great gift idea" list!

The Cake: Desseted Island Supremely Rich Bath and Shower Froth makes a great bubble bath AND body wash.  I actually use it more for the kids' bubble baths than my own, they always ask for the "bubbles that smell like cake!" because seriously, they do.  It's awesome.  And this product is free of Phthalates and Parabens, which is more than a lot of the kid-geared bubbles can say.

They also carry several varieties of Eos lip balm, which I LOVE.  It's so handy to toss in my bag and I like the fun shapes and flavors.  I think it's fabulous that organic, too!

Hands down, one of my favorite goodies of ALL TIME from EdenFantasys is the octo-pleaser.  I just had to buy a second one because the first came up missing and it's been gone for months.  *sad face*  I'm all about back rubs and massages, but single mommy me doesn't get them as often as I'd like.  With this thing, the kids can rub it up and down my back and it feels amazing!  They love it when I use it on them too, so it's an all around awesome little octopus!  It's cute too, that's always a bonus.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Ghouls Fools - August 28!

Take a hauntingly hilarious dive into Bikini Bottom and sing along to some ghostly good tunes from the double-length episode, Ghoul Fools! Plus, go on a treasure hunt, learn to tie a whole boatload of nifty knots, and board the ship of the most inept ghost ever to try and haunt the Seven Seas, the Flying Dutchman himself. It's a collection of episodes so good, it's scary!

What we thought!

My boys LOVE SpongeBob -- pretty sure it's because of all the time spent watching with aunties and older family members.  While I do think it's geared more for older kids and adults, I don't mind them watching.  Most of the jokes are over their head and they like the characters and bright colors.  With Halloween only a couple of months away, this is a great DVD to get in the "spooky" mindset without being scary!

BabyGanics' Say Aahhh! Benzocaine Free Gel Teething Pods

Oooh, teething.  I thought for sure we were almost out of the icky teething stage, but Little Miss Princess still has a few to go.  She was feeling particularly cranky about molars when we were given the chance to try out BabyGanics' Say Aahhh! Benzocaine Free Gel Teething Pods.

I can honestly say I had never used teething gel on any of my kids before trying this.  I was always concerned with the way they were made and the ingredients used, so just tended to shy away from them.  The BabyGanics' Teething Pods are benzocaine free and have no parabens, sulfates, phthalates or toxins.

The product comes in individual, single use "pods" instead of an unsanitary tube that you use over and over again.  It comes with cotton applicators to allow you to simply rub the product onto the applicator and onto baby's gums.  I love that it's relatively portable and can be put in the diaper bag for on the go needs, but I wish the applicators were individually wrapped.  That may sound wasteful, but if they were packaged separately from one another it would make them easier to transport and keep clean and sanitary.  (I don't know about you, but if one fell out into the bottom of my diaper bag, I wouldn't be putting it into the mouths of ANY of my kids...or myself, now that I think about it.  Ick!)

Little Miss Princess didn't much like my sticking the cotton applicator in her mouth, she tends to clamp down on anything you might try to stick in there (so yay for the cotton applicator and not using my finger to smear it around -- I might have ended up missing one!).  From what I could tell, it worked, her mood improved and she didn't seem to mind the taste either!  I wish I had found these a couple of babies ago, I can only imagine how much it would have helped with those very first teething coming in!

The Boot Campaign, a military non-profit that donates to military personnel healing from a variety of physical and emotional combat wounds, will host the 2nd Annual Boot Ride and Rally (www.bootride.com) on Sunday, August 26, 2012 in Los Angeles. Bikers will roll out -with the stars from FX’s Sons of Anarchy leading the way - at 10:30am at Route 66 Classic Grill and cap the day with a 3pm rally at The Happy Ending Bar & Restaurant in Hollywood withlive performances by Blackberry Smoke, the quintet of "rock outlaws" (Creative Loafing) known for raucous country riffs and sprawling shows. In addition to their passionate fan base, the band has garnered praise, supporting tour slots and guest appearances from the likes of Jones, ZZ Top, The Marshall Tucker Band and Zac Brown Band, to whose record label SouthernGround Records they are signed. Non-riders are invited to The Happy Ending Bar & Restaurant ($25) to see the riders roll in and enjoy the concert. 

Sons of Anarchy, about the lives of a close-knit outlaw motorcycle club, has built a loyal and avid following in its four seasons on FX; the highly anticipated fifth season begins in September.  This year, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has also donated 250 copies of the Sons of Anarchy Season 4 DVD as part of their sponsorship.

Proceeds from the ride and rally, along with the Boot Campaign’s sale of military combat boots, are used to fund veteran's initiatives and programs through the Boot Campaign and a variety of charity partners such as Military Warriors Support Foundation, Wounded Wear, Not Alone, Special Ops Survivors, Armed Forces Foundation and Lone Survivor Foundation, that help with a variety of both physical and emotional issues that returning soldiers face today. The Boot Campaign wants Americans to put their boots on to “symbolically walk in the shoes of our military men and women to remember their service and sacrifice.”
